A 120km drive through rural northern Vietnam to the site of Vietnam’s first capital, Hoa Lu. After visiting the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel, take a sampan on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karsts jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place’s other name, ‘Halong on Land’. Return to Hanoi. Free time untill trasfer to the Train Station for a night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train by soft sleeper.

In the morning, pick up at train station, have breakfast at restaurant and transfer directly to Halong Bay. Enjoy the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.
Arrive in Halong, 12h00:Board our traditional sailing junk, check-in registration. Have lunch with welcome wine. A fantastic cruise in Ha Long bay, visit Dinh Huong island, Ga Choi island, Dog island, Sail island, visit Sung Sot cave and a swim at Titov beach. Enjoy dinner on board while watching sunset. Fishing, drinking Vietnamese wine, and spending a night on board.
Breakfast on board, Free at leisure for swimming. Another wonderful cruise to visit Tortoise island , Mans head island, visit Luon cave by a small bamboo boat.
Have lunch on board.
Visit Ba Ham lake (selected according to the tides), Three Peaches beach.
Free leisure for fishing and drinking in the late afternoon. Have dinner and overnight on board.
Breakfast on board, Visit Bai Tu long Bay, Teapot island, Chopstiks island , Bai tho mountain
Return to Halong city and have lunch on board. we continue to take a 5 hours boat ride through Halong Bay to Cat Ba island, the largest island in the vicinity of Halong Bay. Enjoy scenic caves and grottoes of beautiful place designated as World’s Heritage Site. Visit the town by night. Overnight in Cat Ba.
AM: After breakfast, we take a trekking tour (18 kms) through the park to Viet Hai village which is still very dense and unknown to the civilised world. The park has diverse ecosystems with tropical evergreen forests on the hills, fresh water swampy forests at the foot of the hills, coastal mangrove forests, small fresh water lakes. PM: We take a 4 hour boat ride to the scenic Lan Ha Bay, off the eastern side of Cat Ba island, where you can explore numerous beautiful beaches. Lunch and Dinner on your own. Overnight in Cat Ba.

In the morning, transfer to have breakfast at restaurant. Visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and humble house on stilts, as well as the famous One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (Viet Nam's first University).
In the afternoon, after enjoying the tranquility of Hoan Kiem Lake's Ngoc Son Temple we are free to explore the intriguing and bustling Old Quarter with its 36 streets packed with traditional handicrafts and goods. Take a city tour by cyclo and a performance of traditional Vietnamese Water Puppetry. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi
